Jewellery as a gift for her
Jewellery is a gift she will wear and see every day. To get both her taste and the size right, settle three things first: how much you want to spend, what kind of jewellery she wears, and whether she prefers gold or silver. Below is a step-by-step guide with tips for your partner, your mum and Christmas.
1. Budget: gifts under 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 CZK
We have grouped our jewellery into three gift collections by price. Each shows only the pieces that fit the budget, sorted from the highest price:
- Gifts under 1,000 CZK – smaller pieces as a token or to go with another present.
- Gifts under 1,500 CZK – delicate rings, earrings and necklaces with cubic zirconia.
- Gifts under 2,000 CZK – also rings with larger stones and bracelets.
Shipping is free on orders from 1,490 CZK. If you are buying several presents at once, for example for the whole family at Christmas, it pays to order them together.
2. Type of jewellery: what to choose if you are unsure
Earrings
Earrings are the safest choice because there is no size to get right. Just check that she has pierced ears. Small hoops or small cubic zirconia earrings suit every day; drop earrings are for evenings out. Browse our earrings.
Necklace
A pendant necklace is another gift with no sizing worries. Most of our chains are 40 cm with a 5 cm extender, so she can adjust the length. A heart, drop or four-leaf clover pendant can carry a small message too. Take a look at our necklaces.
Bracelet
Our bracelets have an extender chain, so the length is adjustable. If you know her wrist is very slim or on the larger side, check the dimensions in the product description.
Ring
A ring is a personal gift, but it has to fit. Before you buy, find out her size using the tips below.
3. If you do not know her ring size
- Borrow a ring she wears, ideally one she wears on the same finger. Measure its inner diameter in millimetres and find it in the chart in our ring size guide. If you cannot take the ring out of the house, trace its inner edge on paper with a sharp pencil and measure the diameter of the drawing.
- Ask someone close to her. A friend, sister or daughter often knows her size or can find out discreetly.
- Between two sizes, choose the larger one. A slightly loose ring can still be worn; a tight one will not go over the knuckle.
- Not sure at all? Choose earrings or a necklace and save the ring for another time.
Our rings come in US sizes 5 to 9. If a ring does not fit, the buyer can withdraw from the purchase within the statutory period of 14 days from delivery; the cost of returning the goods is paid by the buyer. Details are on our Returns and refunds page.
4. Gold or silver?
Look at the jewellery and watch she wears most often. If they are gold, go for gold-plated silver; if silver or white gold, choose rhodium-plated. Gold-plated pieces are grouped in the Golden Muse collection, rhodium-plated ones in Grace in Motion. If she wears both, choose the colour of the piece the gift should go with, such as the earrings you are buying a necklace to match. The difference between the two finishes and how to care for them is explained on our 925 silver, gold and rhodium plating page.
A gift for your girlfriend
For a girlfriend, choose something with personal meaning: a heart necklace or ring, earrings to go with her favourite dress, or a piece for your anniversary. A ring can look like a hint at an engagement – if that is not what you mean, a necklace or earrings are the safer choice. Follow her style: if she wears small, delicate jewellery, do not buy a bold piece with a large stone.
A gift for your mum
Mums appreciate jewellery they can wear every day: cubic zirconia earrings that do not get in the way, or a delicate pendant necklace. Choose the colour she wears and a classic shape rather than a bold trend. If her ears are not pierced, choose a necklace or a bracelet. If the gift is from the whole family, you could choose from the under 2,000 CZK collection.
A gift for a friend or colleague
For a friend or colleague, a smaller token is enough, perhaps from the under 1,000 CZK collection. Neutral pieces that go with everything work well: small cubic zirconia earrings or a fine chain with a small pendant. Save bold, personal pieces such as a heart ring for your partner.
Jewellery as a Christmas present
Jewellery works well as a Christmas present: it is small, easy to wrap and she will keep wearing it after the holidays. Order in good time – delivery time depends on the shipping method you choose, and carriers are busy in December. We ship to a Packeta pickup point or Z-BOX for 69 CZK, or by courier to your address for 99 CZK, and shipping is free from 1,490 CZK. You can pay by card online, by bank transfer with a QR code or cash on delivery. If you are unsure of her ring size, earrings or a necklace are the safer Christmas choice.
Frequently asked questions
What jewellery should I buy a woman as a gift?
Earrings or a necklace are the safest choice because there is no size to get right. Choose the colour from the jewellery she already wears: gold-plated silver if she wears gold, rhodium-plated if she wears silver. Only buy a ring if you know her size.
How can I find out her ring size without her noticing?
Borrow a ring she wears on the same finger and measure its inner diameter, or trace its inner edge on paper. Compare the result with the chart in our ring size guide. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
What jewellery should I buy my girlfriend?
Choose something with personal meaning, such as a heart necklace or ring, in the style she already wears. A ring can look like a hint at an engagement, so if that is not what you mean, go for a necklace or earrings.
What jewellery makes a good gift for my mum?
Mums appreciate everyday pieces, such as cubic zirconia earrings or a delicate pendant necklace. Choose the colour she wears and a classic shape.
